The Chicago Blackhawks have seen blue line prospect Viktor Svedberg up and down in the team’s lineup throughout the 2015-16 season – but now, after a few more games down at the AHL level, he’s back up with the NHL club again.

Undrafted at the NHL level, the 24 year old Svedberg was signed to an entry-level deal by the Blackhawks in the summer of 2013. Since then, he’s seen first a one year renewal, now a two year extension announced earlier this spring – and with another recall confirmed on Thursday afternoon, it seems that the Blackhawks are continuing to trust him at all levels.

The 6 foot 8 Swedish born blue liner has played in 19 games with Chicago this year, recording two goals and four points. He also boasts a goal and 15 points in 40 AHL games with the Rockford Ice Hogs throughout the year, which surpasses his previous career high of 14 points in 49 AHL games.

The Blackhawks will next play on Saturday, when they face the Calgary Flames on the road in Alberta. They’ll be looking to come back from a tough 6-2 loss to the Dallas Stars earlier this week, but have a few days to rest up before they next play to come at the game at full strength.
