The Chicago Blackhawks have announced that they have recalled forward Bryan Bickell from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Rockford IceHogs.
Bickell, 30, has tallied two assists in his 23 appearances with the Chicago Blackhawks thus far this season.
A native of Bowmanville, Ontario, he has also notched 15 goals and 16 assists for 31 points in his 44 games with Rockford this season. In 272 career regular season appearances in the AHL he has lit the lamp 66 times and assisted on an additional 74 more goals to have 140 career AHL regular season points over five campaigns.
The 6’4, 223-pound left wing, has recorded 65 goals and 70 assists for 135 career NHL points during his 382 career regular-season NHL games along with an additional 39 points (20 goals and 19 assists) during 75 postseason contest appearances, all with Chicago (2006-15).
He was also a member of the Blackhawks’ 2010, 2013 and 2015 Stanley Cup championship teams. Bickell was selected by the Blackhawks during the second round, 41st overall, of the 2004 NHL Draft after playing in the 2003-04 CHL Top Prospects Game.
Prior to being drafted BIckell played four season in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) where he skated in 242 OHL regular season games (with the Ottawa 67’s and the Windsor Spitfires). He registered 94 goals and 96 assists for 190 career OHL points. Ending his OHL career with 235 penalty minutes and a plus-33 rating.
The Blackhawks return to game action tomorrow when they will host division rivals, the St. Louis Blues.
