The Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues are headed to a Game 7. How else would these Central Division rivals decide what’s been a very close and entertaining first-round series? Five of the first six games were decided by one goal. Game 6 included a two-goal lead by the Blues in the first period, five consecutive goals by Chicago to pull off a comeback win and a very loud United Center.
The Scottrade Center is expected to be just as vocal come Game 7 on Monday. The Blues held a 3-1 series advantage, and the Blackhawks fought back to even the series. Will Chicago pull off three consecutive wins or can the Blues banish their first-round demons? Brian Hedger and Scott Powers met in St. Louis prior to Game 7 to discuss all that and much more. Hedger and Powers will be recording podcasts following every game of the series, so come back after Game 7 as well.
Scott Powers has been covering the Blackhawks for the past four seasons. He was a staff writer for ESPN Chicago from 2009-2015 and covered the Blackhawks for them for three seasons. He is now a staff contributor for The Athletic in Chicago. He has also written for Today’s Slapshot, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune, USA Hockey Magazine and other publications throughout the country.
Brian Hedger is a veteran on the Blackhawks’ beat and has been writing about them throughout their three Stanly Cups over the past six seasons. He is a correspondent for NHL.com and mainly covers the Blackhawks for the website. He has also written for the Chicago Sun-Times, Daily Herald, The Athletic and many other publications.
